KING'S X Frontman Interviewed On 'Heady Metal With Jeff Olson' (Audio)
February 27, 2012Doug Pinnick, the bassist and singer for the progressive hard rock band KING'S X, was interviewed on the latest edition of "Heady Metal With Jeff Olson", the Internet radio show hosted by original TROUBLE drummer and current RETRO GRAVE mainman Jeff "Oly" Olson. As previously reported, KING'S X drummer Jerry Gaskill suffered a heart attack Saturday night (February 25). The musician was operated on and is said to be in stable condition.
KING'S X was scheduled to launch a three-week tour on March 28 in Austin. There is no word yet on whether those dates will be postponed or canceled.
Gaskill and Doug Pinnick have been playing together since 1979, when they met in Springfield, Missouri.
KING'S X is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its self-titled Atlantic debut this year.
KING'S X's 2008 album, "XV", sold 4,450 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 145 on the Billboard 200 chart. This marked the first time in over a decade that the band had cracked the Top 200 in the first week of release.
KING'S X's "Gretchen Goes To London: Live At The Astoria 5.6.90" DVD was released in November 2008 via Molken Music. The set documents the historic show at the Astoria Theatre in 1990 and includes never-before-seen footage. The DVD was produced by Wally Farkas and has a running time of 64 minutes.
